Highlights from the Reiki Alliance Conference
Reiki Alliance, Netherlands, May 2025
In 2016, I was initiated as a Reiki Master. At that time, my teacher, Brian Brunius, encouraged me to connect with the global Reiki community, which led me to join the Reiki Alliance. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of attending Reiki Alliance conferences in Canada, England, Uruguay, and most recently, the Netherlands.
Brian once shared that what we discuss at these gatherings is secondary to simply being present in the collective energy field of Reiki Masters. This year, 150 participants from 22 countries came together. As we met, exchanged stories, envisioned the future of the Reiki Alliance, practiced Reiki, laughed, hugged, and danced, I found myself moved by a deep mix of emotions. The sheer volume of Reiki energy can feel overwhelming, yet within it, I always discover a profound sense of joy and gratitude. Each time I attend, I return home transformed—I see how much I continue to grow spiritually. Over the years, I’ve built lasting friendships and professional relationships, and it's always a gift to reconnect in person.
This year marks a new chapter for the Reiki Alliance, as membership has now been extended to Reiki students. Our most recent conference welcomed 15 students, symbolizing an exciting step forward. I previously served on the board and now have the honor of acting as the community liaison for this newsletter.
In July, I’ll be attending the Northwest Reiki Gathering, where I also serve on the board. If you're a Reiki student, I warmly encourage you to join us—it’s a unique opportunity to experience the richness of a Reiki community. This year’s gathering will take place in Corbett, Oregon, just 30 minutes from the Portland airport. Event details here.
